MasterShaper - Network traffic under control
MasterShaper is a network traffic shaper which provides a Web Interface for Quality of Servcie (QoS) functions of newer Linux 2.4- & 2.6-Kernel-Series.
It targets to let users learn and use the traffic shaping mechanism. This should be possible for everyone who has no deeper knowledge of Linux and the difficult syntax of the tc commands from the iproute2 package.
It provides a Web Interface which lets you define bandwidth pipes and filters (based on IP, MAC, ports, protocols, ipp2p, layer7-filter, ...). It also draws some graphs about the current bandwidth usage and distribution. There is no more need for any shell access or privileged users.

- (2007-12-26) MasterShaper is now again producing some useful tc-code and the graphs are also working again in the current development trunk. In the meantime I switched the source code repository from Subversion to GIT. The Development page will be updated soon on how to fetch the source code again. Some coding help would be really appreciated!
- (2007-11-10) I am still working on getting the design out in Smarty templates. Some bugs in the AJAX implementation have slowed my progress but the work is almost done - the most code is already separated and it works good so far.
- (2007-09-25) I have continued to work on MasterShaper with skipping the code of the 0.5 version. It became almost unmaintainable so I have started now to move all of the GUI part out to smarty templates (http://smarty.php.net) and away from the PHP code. I hope that this step makes it far easier as soon as finished, to hack on this project. As soon as this step is finished, some alpha code will be published - likely in the mid of October.
